Join the Avenue of Flags

We invite you to join us in celebrating the patriotic holidays of the year by participating in our Avenue of Flags! When you join the Avenue of Flags your home will be outfitted with a flag pole receptacle to display an American flag during five of the patriotic holidays of the year:

• Memorial Day

• Flag Day

• Fourth of July

• Labor Day

• Veterans Day

During these holidays, members of the Urbandale Optimist Club head out to place a flag outside your home, which will remain throughout the holiday weekend. At the end of the weekend, we head back out to pick up the flags. Our members store the flags and take care of the whole process.

The annual fee to participate in our annual flags program is $40. All proceeds from this program go towards helping us fund other community projects and programs.

Participating Areas For the Flag Program

Currently, we have the capacity to operate the flag program within select areas of the Urbandale community. If you live within Urbandale and would like to learn more about signing up, fill out the form below or contact us for more information.

We are always trying to grow our flag program. If you find out that you are not within an eligible area, recruit a few neighbors and help us expand our programming!
